1/63 MIGRATION SOURCES-GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTH AMERICA, 1967 Second Annual Priesthood Genealogical RESEARCH Seminar. This 2nd Seminar will deal with migration in several area but emphasis will be given early L.D.S. migration problems. 4/30 GULICKS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (1961) - There appeared to be no record that was reasonably extensive, accurately listed chronologically, and publicly available to or usable by the average member of the family, who might be interested in his lineage. With this in mind, he decided to try and compile such a record. This book is the result.
5/3 ULSTER EMIGRATION TO COLONIAL AMERICA 1718-1775 (1966)This volume by Dr. Dickson is the first in a series which will, I hope, not only add to our knowledge of the ULSTER-SCOTS, but will also make a serious contribution to the history of the United Kingdom and of British expansion overseas. The IRISH emigrant to Colonial America has failed to attract the attention he deserves purely as an emigrant. The object of this book is to fill in part of that gap in Irish history by examining emigration to Colonial America from the northern ports of Ireland, for it from those ports that a substantial number of America-bound emigrants sailed.

5/1 IN SEARCH OF SCOTTISH ANCESTRY, (1980) - It is always advantageous for the genealogist to have some knowledge of a country's history, especially her social and economic history. This is particularly desirable in Scotland research. - SCOTLAND's early history is one of a continual struggle with its neighbouring and more powerful country south of its border. The introduction gives an interesting history of the struggles and resistance to other kingdoms and their wars. The Scottish emigrants, by their enterprise and industry brought great benefits to the countries on which they settled. Many Scotsmen in the early 19th century migrated to England, particularly to the north of England, and to the developing port of Liverpool. - Chapter I, is on family information - chapter II, Civil Registration - chapter III, Parish and nonconformist Register - chapter IV, Surnames and Christian names, etc.
5/7 IRISH AND SCOTCH-IRISH ANCESTRAL RESEARCH - A GUIDE TO THE GENEALOGICAL RECORDS, METHODS AND SOURCES IN IRELAND- (1962)Repositories and Records - Americans have previously had little hope of discovering the historical and genealogical records of their forbears, due to the lack of any comprehensive and detailed guide to the methods of work and the collections of genealogical sources materials of all classes, scattered among the many repositories of records in IRELAND. These two volumes, offering the first complete guide to IRISH and Scotch-Irish genealogical research ever published in America or abroad, are the result of three extended periods of work in the principal repositories of records throughout Ireland in 1951, 1952, and 1955, etc.

5/17 THE LIVES AND TIMES OF OUR ENGLISH ANCESTORS, Vol. 2 (1980) - This book was meant as a broad overview of the conditions under which our ancestors lived, emphasizing in general terms only the economic conditions under which our poorer ancestors lived. This volume deals largely with actual events that took place in the lives of persons or groups of persons, representing, in the social strata, the more than 90% of the population, the lower classes. Unlike volume I, this volume deals with only four centuries, 1500-1900. This volume is also designed to help you in writing your multi-generation English Family History. Looks very interesting indeed.

2/80 THE TRAIL WEST - A Bibliography-Index to Western American Trails 1841-1869, (1988) - It was clear that a comprehensive indexed guide to all trail literature was needed. Patrons frequently asked for data on lesser-known routes not described in standard reference guides--There was no single reference tool that surveyed the entire field of Western North American trails. The final format included diaries, recollections, books, articles, thesis/dissertations, graphics and maps. The time frame extended from 1841's initial California-bound settlers to the completion of the transcontinental railroad in 1869. Additionally, sources important to subjects related to the trail experience were collected and indexed in detail.

5/38 YOUR ANCIENT CANADIAN FAMILY TIES, (1972) - Has a small introduction on the local History of the French-Canadians as it was in the early years of New France, or as our Pioneers saw and lived it. You should be proud of your Ancestors because the life they led showed faith and courage, and it was a rugged one. Also, let's remember that in those early years in Canada, our forefathers had only their wives and their rifles. - It contains short biographies, alphabetically arranged, of the French-Canadian settlers in Canada from 1618-1700. - It has a surname index.

History and genealogy, linked as they are with Heraldry, are illustrated and in some instances explained, by the Science of Arms -- The ARMORY will, it is earnestly hoped, become a book of general and satis- factory reference on the subject of HERALDRY and ARMS, and form the sequel to my series of works in elucidation of the genealogy and history of the titled and untitled order of three Kingdoms.
*ATLAS:
1/62 A GENEALOGICAL AND HISTORICAL ATLAS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA-The one and only purpose if this historical Atlas is to bring to the knowledge and understanding ofthe American genealogical and historical researcher a collection of MAPS, as well as other information that willenable him to solve a research problem. the information herein, as well as the MAPS, is selected with this purposein mind.
1/100 GENEALOGICAL ATLAS OF SCOTLAND - Compiled from original MAPS By Gardner, Harland and Smith.
5/72 DANMARK 1:100 000 TOPOGRAFISK ATLAS (1982)
5/76 K.A.K'S BILATLAS--SWEDEN -- (1945) - Has lots of MAPS in the front part.
5/77 GENEALOGICAL GUIDEBOOK & ATLAS OF DENMARK (1969) - The aim of the compilers in publishing this book is to provide in the English language the basic information and references needed to conduct good research in DANISH genealogical records. Thus, this book gives a very brief description of the four major sources---church records, census returns military levying rolls and probate records. These sources are treated in more detail in research papers published by the Genealogical Society in Salt Lake City. Also included here are ecclesiastical and topographical MAPS which will assist both the experienced researcher and the amateur in locality problems. -- this book has a list of the more common terms found in DANISH genealogical recordstogether with English equivalents; a calendar of the mostfrequently used feast days; and an alphabet of the GOTHIC SCRIPT to assist in DECIPHERING the OLD HANDWRITING. The authors have prepared this book in the belief that the aids it contains will be of great value to those searching for their DANISH ANCESTORS.
5/78 This book is the same as 7/6 above.
5/79 A NEW GENEALOGICAL ATLAS OF IRELAND (1986) - Ancestral research in IRELAND requires familiarity with historical records and an understanding of how these records are organized. The geographical dimension in Irish genealogy is of utmost importance, as historical records were gradually gathered by various administrative divisions. It is intended that this Volume of MAPS be used in conjunction with the General alphabetical Index to the Townlands and Towns, Parishes and Baronies of Ireland. The intention of this ATLAS is to locate six major administrative divisions -namely, counties, baronies, civil parishes, dioceses, poor low unions and probate districts. All main recordsources are organized by at least one of these divisions..
5/80 GENEALOGICAL ATLAS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, (1966) --In the first part of this book you will find a county MAP and a relief map for each state in the union. There is an INDEX which lists each state with its counties in alphabetical order.. In the back of the book you will find two large fold-out maps; one a complete county map of the United States, - and the other a complete relief map of the United States. These MAPS will be very helpful as they show all states in their relation to the country as a whole.
5/81 The Phillimore ATLAS and INDEX of PARISH REGISTERS, (1984) (England) - The Atlas contains (unless otherwise stated) a genealogical MAP of the pre-1832 parishes, and a topographical MAP from James Bell's A New and Comprehensive Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1834. Because so many of these publications now exist, each covering a part of the complex picture, but none the entirety, Phillimore and Company had the idea of producing a consolidated, simplified GUIDE to help the would-be user. At the same time, the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies approached Phillimore with the proposal that their famous series of colored county maps, exhaustively revised between 1980 and 1984, should be published together in a bound ATLAS The two ideas were combined by increasing the scope of the Index to the Atlas to provide the additional information that the searcher needs. All who have had need to consult parish registers will recognize that this book is probably the most practical and comprehensive GUIDE ever devised.
5/82 NATIONAL ATLAS - ROAD MAPS AND TOWN PLANS - GREAT BRITAIN with special London Section and town plans --(1968)
5/83 ATLAS OF THE BIBLE - (Readers Digest) - An Illustrated GUIDE To The Holy Land---(1983) - At the core of any Atlas are the MAPS, and Atlas of the Bible has dozens of these. But before the reader comes to the maps, he is given an extended introduction to the Bible world, a collection of special features that serve as an illustrated guide to the Holy Land.
5/84 GENEALOGICAL GUIDEBOOK AND ATLAS OF NORWAY, (no date) - This book gives a very brief description of three major sources...church records, census returns and probate records. These sources are treated in more detail in research papers published by the Genealogical Society in Salt Lake City -- Included is a topographical MAP produced in sections which will assist both the experienced researcher and the amateur in locality problems. These are anessential tool for conducting genealogical research. A list of parishes is supplied and shows the year when theregister in each parish began and the name of the head parish to which it was connected. This list therefore, becomes another invaluable research tool. This book has a list of the more common terms found in NORWEGIAN genealogical records, together with English equivalents; a calender of the most frequently used feast days; and an alphabet of the GOTHIC SCRIPT to assist in deciphering the old handwriting.
5/85 ROAD ATLAS--EUROPE (1976)
5/88 **TIME WORLD ATLAS, (1978)--INDEX OF THE WORLD - This alphabetical list of grand divisions, countries, states Colonial possessions, etc., gives page numbers and index references on which they are shown on the largest scale as well as area and population of each unit--The index reference shows the square on the respective map in which the name of the entry map be located. An index of major cities of the United States may be found on pages 175-176.
5/89 GENEALOGICAL ATLAS OF SCOTLAND (1962) - Compiled from original MAPS-- the Index lists all parishes and also many smaller places within these parishes, and indicates the county of which each place is a part. Also included in this Index are references to districts, rivers and mountains.

5/94 HISTORICAL AND GENEALOGICAL ATLAS OF THE EASTERN UNITEDSTATES, (no date) - Chronological MAPS from the revolutionary period to the present for 26 states east of the Mississippi River.. The maps included in the Atlas are designed to provide information from Atlases which are not otherwise readily available. The maps were selected to provide coverage of the various states from the 1800's to the present.
5/95 A GENEALOGICAL AND HISTORICAL ATLAS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, (1976) - by Kay Kirkham, Everton Publishers--The one and only purpose of this Historical Atlas is to bring to the knowledge and understanding of the American Genealogical and historical researcher a collection of MAPS, as well as other information that will enable him to solve a research problem. The information herein, as well as the MAPS, is selected with this purpose in mind. The arrangement of this book is such that, from the first tothe last section, the ever-changing boundaries of the counties, territories and states can be studied. It is not sufficient, in historical research, to know WHEN an event took place, it is necessary to know WHERE it happened. Of greater importance still, as far as records are concerned it is necessary to know the political jurisdiction of the designated area. This book features, in particular, state maps with the county outlines defined.

BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA, Volume II (1914) - A compilation of BIOGRAPHICAL sketches of prominent Men and Women in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints --It contains 1,182 BIOGRAPHICAL sketches. These added to the 690 sketches of a similar mature contained in Vol. I makes 1,872 sketches compiled, edited and published in the two volumes. It is not alphabetical, but has an index in the back of the book 3/5 L.D.S. BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA, Volume III, (1920) - Like its predecessors, it contains life sketches of faithful and active members of the Church. It is valuable to Latter-Day-Saints from a genealogical standpoint, as each sketch is practically a link in the great chain, which reaches as far back into the mysterious past as there are records and traditions, and points indefinitely to the great future; the author has endeavored in each sketch to give the names of both parents.
3/6 L.D.S. BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA, Volume IV, (1936) - With the approval of the First Presidency of the Church, it was decided to publish one more volume in order to make the circle of information more nearly complete, and with this aim in mind the present book, Vol. IV, will enable the student to find anything contained in all the four books of the Encyclopedia
3/7 This is volume IV, the same as 3/6.3/8 L.D.S. BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA, Vol. I (1901) - On the rolls of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints are found the names of a host of men and women of worth heroes and heroines of a higher type, who have been, and are willing to sacrifice fortunes and life for the sake of their religion. It is for the purpose of perpetuating the memory of these, and to place on record deeds worthy of imitation, that this book makes its appearance. It has been compiled with great care, and yet it is not free from errors.

Also, let's remember that inthose early years in Canada, our forefathers had only their wives and their rifles. 2/80 THE TRAIL WEST - A Bibliography-Index to Western American Trails 1841-1869, (1988) - It was clear that a comprehensive indexed guide to all trail literature was needed Patrons frequently asked for data on lesser-known routes not described in standard reference guides--There was no single reference tool that surveyed the entire field of Western North American trails. The final format included diaries, recollections, books, articles, thesis/dissertations,graphics and maps. The time frame extended from 1841's initial California-bound settlers to the completion of the transcontinental railroad in 1869. Additionally, sources important to subjects related to the trail experience were collected and indexed in detail.
1/40a DICTIONARY OF SAINTS, (1980) - "The Saints are a fascinating Company of men, women, and children who devoted their lives to Christ and his teachings in widely varied ways. They came from every walk of life--from poor peasant tilling his soil to eke out a living and poverty stricken slum dweller of a large city to emperor and king." The martyrs of the Church represent the eternal pillars of a faith that has transformed the world. John J. Delaney has written an impressive compendium on the lives and accomplishments of these men and women, whose exemplary deeds have enriched and influenced the lives of believers both within and outside the Catholic Church. Here is a modern up-to-date dictionary of all the major and minor saints venerated by the universal church, containing short BIOGRAPHIES on some 5000 subjects.---The purpose of this work is to make available in a single volume an up-to-date, easy to use compendium of factual information about the some 5000 saints include herein.

3/5 L.D.S. BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA, Vol. III (1920) - Like its predecessors, it contains life sketches of faithful and active members of the Church.--It is valuable to Latter-Day-Saints from a genealogical standpoint, as each sketch is practically a link in the great genealogical chain, which reaches as far back into the mysterious past as there are records and traditions, and points indefinitely to the great future; the author has endeavored in each sketch to give the names of both parents and children.

The IRISH emigrant to COLONIAL AMERICA has failed to attract the attention he deserves purely as an emigrant. The object of this book is to fill in that gap in IRISH history by examining emigration to Colonial America from the Northern ports of Ireland, for it was from those ports that a substantial number of America- bound emigrants sailed.

This present work provides details of many additional emigrants noted in a variety of sources during the course of many years. Insofar as English records are concerned, one of the best sources giving clues to an immigrant ancestor are the WILLS and ADMINISTRATIONS of the prerogative Court of (the Archbishop of) Canterbury, London (P.C.C.). Thus, a large number of entries found in this volume are taken from the P.C.C. wills and Administrations. Others are taken from the smaller London Probate Courts and from Chancery Court proceedings, and together, these sources provide the bulk of the entries used. This present vol makes available another 948 references giving record of several thousand persons together with an index of names and places.

THE DARNALL, DARNELL FAMILY including DARNEAL, DARNEILLEDARNIELLE, DARNOLD, DERNALL, DURNALL, DURNELL, and names variously spelled with allied families. Vol. I - The American DARNALL families are descendants of those who came here approximately at the time of Cromwell's activities ion England. They were, principally, the Catholic Disenter, and Quaker branches. They settled in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Two other branches settled in Maryland and Virginia. Those conforming to the Established Church in the main remained in England and have had rather a distinguished legal and ecclesiastical history. COUNTY DURHAM, ENGLAND seems to have been the point of origin of most of the ancestors of the family in this hemisphere. Indicative of this is a similarity in the various COATS OF ARMS.

5/17 THE LIVES AND TIMES OF OUR ENGLISH ANCESTORS, Vol. 2,(1980) - This book was meant as a broad overview of the conditions under which our ancestors lived, emphasizing in general terms only the economic conditions under which our poorer ancestors lived. This volume deals largely with actual events that took place in the lives of persons or groups of persons, representing, in the social strata, the more than 90% of the population, the lower classes. Unlike volume I, this volume deals with only four centuries, 1500-1900. This volume is also designed to help you in writing your multi-generation English Family History Looks very interesting indeed.
5/18 ALLEGATIONS FOR MARRIAGE LICENSES issued by the Bishop of LONDON, 1520-1610, Vol. I , (London 1887) - The series from 5 Jan 1520-7 Dec 1597 is invaluable, as no other record of them exists. It will be seen that the entries of the first eighteen years are anterior to the date of the earliest Parish Registers, and they therefore possess a special value.

5/28 GENEALOGICAL RESEARCH IN ENGLAND AND WALES, Vol. I (1956,12th printing 1977) - When giving classes, the author and Colleagues were asked many times for a textbook which would do something more than skim the surface. Behind this book is the accumulation of over thirty years experience most of them spent in actually handling the records in England and Wales. They decided to describe first of all the principal genealogical sources applicable to the period from 1538 to the present (1957), because these are the years usually covered by researchers.
5/29 THE LIVES AND TIMES OF OUR ENGLISH ANCESTORS (2nd printing 1974)- This book is the result of an increasing conviction that a study of the historical, economical and social background of our English ancestors is necessary if an intelligent approach is to be made to the matter of finding record of them and properly identifying them. At the same time, such a study will show that their lives and times were interesting and exciting. This book is the result of a study of many other books written by authorities on these subjects. The author has not attempted an historical or economical thesis but a simple outline which the Carpenter or housewife genealogy enthusiast can hopefully read and understand.
5/30 A GENEALOGICAL GAZETTEER OF ENGLAND (1968, 1969, 1977) An alphabetical Dictionary of places with their location Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, population, and the date of the earliest entry in the Registers of every Ancient Parish in England. Dedicated to a simpler way of performing genealogical research in English records. The only work of its kind, this newly compiled volume contains all the genealogical information necessary to know before searching in English records for data about a family living in a particular locality. Before inquiring about the records of an English ancestor the researcher needs to study the locality where the family resided...The present work is the result of six years of spare time work in this area because he believes that it is essential that as much reference material as possible be placed in the hands of the amateur so that he can plan his work in his own home and use his time in the library to the full..
